About Mr Shav Rupasinghe

Based in west Melbourne, Mr. Shav Rupasinghe is dedicated to serving the western region as an Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in upper limb surgery. He brings extensive experience in shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand procedures to his practice. Proficient in various surgical techniques, Shav is skilled in arthroscopic, microscopic, minimally invasive, and open surgery. He offers consultations at Werribee Mercy Hospital publicly and Sunshine and St. Vincent's Hospitals privately, ensuring timely access to treatment for all patients.

Mr Rupasinghe attained his medical degree at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He completed his orthopaedic training in New Zealand. After gaining his Fellowship at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Shav undertook a sub-speciality Fellowship in Knee and Shoulder Surgery in Bristol UK, a Fellowship in Upper Limb Surgery in Wrightington (Centre of Excellence in UK) and a further fellowship in Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist and Hand Surgery at the Hand and Upper Limb Centre in London Ontario (Western University).

With a focus on the shoulder and elbow, he excels in trauma management, shoulder arthroscopy, and shoulder replacement surgery. His expertise extends to the wrist, and hand, providing comprehensive care for a wide range of upper limb conditions.

Passionate about knowledge sharing, Mr. Rupasinghe actively engages in teaching medical and allied health staff. He contributes to the advancement of the field through research, with numerous scientific papers published in respected peer-reviewed journals. His work has also been presented on national and international platforms.
